Each complex will open 90 minutes before the first game of the day and all diamonds will be unlocked at least 60 minutes prior to the first game of the day.

- Diamonds 1-6 are located to the left upon entering the park
- Diamonds 7-10 are located to the right upon entering the park

- Pitchers in the 13u & older age divisions must wear turf shoes or tennis shoes on the mound (molded cleats and metal spikes are not permitted)

TOURNAMENT FORMAT & DIVISION NOTES
14OPEN DIVISION
BBCOR bats required. Each team will play two pool play games on Saturday. All teams advance to the single elimination Championship Bracket on Sunday.
9AAA DIVISION
Each team will play two pool play games on Friday/Saturday at either North Vernon City Park or Ceraland Sports Complex. The top four teams from pool play advance to Championship Bracket 1 on Sunday. The bottom five teams from pool play advance to Championship Bracket 2 on Sunday. All bracket games will be played at Ceraland Sports Complex. Champions and Finalists of both brackets receive awards.
9A DIVISION
The 9A division in the Calvin Strong Classic is playing with OPEN BASES: Leadoffs, dropped third strike and infield fly rule are all in play. Each team will play two pool play games on Saturday. All teams advance to the single elimination Championship Bracket on Sunday.
8KP DIVISION
Each team will play two pool play games on Friday/Saturday. The top four teams from pool play advance to Championship Bracket 1 on Sunday. The bottom four teams from pool play advance to Championship Bracket 2 on Sunday. Champions and Finalists of both brackets receive awards.
The 8u Kid Pitch division uses the same rules that are listed in the Indiana USSSA Rules Packet for the 9u A/AA divisions:
- No Leadoffs
- A player cannot leave the base until the ball has crossed the plate
- If a player leaves the base before the ball crosses the plate he will be declared out
- A player cannot leave the base until the ball has crossed the plate
- No Dropped Third Strike
- A batter is automatically out on a dropped/missed third strike by the catcher
- No Infield Fly Rule
- Infield fly rule is NOT used
7A DIVISION
Round robin format. Each team will play two games. The first and second place teams receive awards.
ALL OTHER DIVISIONS
Each team will play two pool play games on Friday/Saturday. All teams advance to the single elimination Championship Bracket on Sunday.
AWARDS & MERCHANDISE
Champions and Finalists of the Championship Bracket in each division receive awards! Additionally, each player on any 1st or 2nd place team receives an automatic invitation to the Ohio Valley All-State Showcase! See below for All-State Showcase details. Event t-shirts and other merchandise will be available to purchase on-site at the tournament.
OHIO VALLEY ALL-STATE SHOWCASE
If your team has earned a 1st or 2nd place finish in a USSSA event this season, you are eligible to compete as an individual in the 2026 Ohio Valley All-State Showcase. This unique individual event takes place at ETown Sports Park in Elizabethtown, KY on Saturday, August 8th.

TOURNAMENT RULES
Indiana USSSA Rules, National USSSA Rules & Official Baseball Rules
All players must be listed on your team’s online USSSA roster. Player names and DOB must match their official birth certificate. Please ensure all players and guest players are added to your team’s online roster by Thursday at 11:59pm.

TURF FIELD & PORTABLE PITCHING MOUND RULES
7u-12u teams are not allowed to wear metal cleats on ANY playing surface. ALL players at ALL ages are not allowed to wear metal cleats on any turf field at any USSSA event in Indiana. Metal cleats are not allowed on any portable pitching mounds and are also not allowed in the outfield on fields that have turf infields. Additionally, chewing gum and sunflower seeds are not permitted on turf fields. Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in ejections or forfeiture of the game.
TIME LIMITS
- Coach Pitch, 8KP & 9A Divisions
- 1 Hour 30 Minutes
- 1 Hour 40 Minutes (Championship Game)
- 9AAA – 14U Divisions
- 1 Hour 40 Minutes
- 2 Hours (Championship Game)
- No new inning may be started after time has expired
- All teams must be ready to play 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time

GAME SCORECARDS
Each head coach must sign the scorecard immediately after the game, confirming the final score of the game and the innings pitched by each individual player that pitched. It is the responsibility of each coach to ensure all information on the scorecard is correct. Once the card has been signed, it is official.
